Doing Freelance Work with SquareSpace
Friday, January 1, 2010 at 5:16PM SquareSpace is a great tool for freelance website developers. I just started website development for Jamaican websites and Bahamian websites. I have 5 packages and charge based on how long I think it will take me to build the site and how much it will cost me to host the site on SQ. I also have a custom package for anything that is out of the scope of the other 4 packages.
From a revenue and time management perspective, I would recommend hosting your clients' SQ sites and creating a user account for them to make edits if they want. You will generate extra income with the discounted hosting and you will be able to monitor and make "quick" changes for your clients - which saves you precious time.
Another PaaS app to consider is Weebly. They are cheaper that SQ and in some cases just as good. SQ has the edge of being more configurable with less amount of work.
Have fun and please do share your progress.
